Imagine, you have the time and opportunity to develop your pinball skills and then you get paid to use them.

That’s what happened to the only pinball wizard I ever knew. She practised diligently, six to twelve hours every day and usually seven days a week. She kept the schedule up for two years, eight months three week and two days before slipping away to a wonderful villa somewhere in Spain. Unbeknown to us at the time she had answered an advert

My friend (I’ve promised never to divulge her name) had practised on a free vend 1960s pin ball. Lucky for her her brother had bought the machine and knew a pinball engineer. The tilt mechanism was very fine and most everyday players would fall foul of it. Even my friend fell foul to this delicate tilt mechanism for the first few months of her acquaintance with it. But practice makes perfect and lots of practice makes very perfect; she attained pinball wizard status within the year.

You may have come across my friend. You’ll see her name on top of the league of Highest Scores.

All I know about my friend and what happened to her after she answered the advert for a pinball wizard is that she has a luxurious lifestyle and that her pinball skills have been harnessed to make millions of dollars for her and her employers.
