Unemployed 26-year old Josh Moore loves online gaming, but these days, he is not so supportive of Microsoft for its odd mishandling of his beloved hometown of Fort Gay, West Virginia.
Microsoft banned Moore from participating in XBox Live for several days due to the name of his hometown on his personal information page. Moore, who loves playing such games as Medal of Honor and Call of Duty, was mystified at the banning, and attempted to convince the XBox Live customer service department that Fort Gay was in fact a real place. According to Moore, the XBox Live customer service department would have none of it – refusing to even say the word “Gay” in their communications.

“I told him, Google it — 25514!” Moore said, offering up the town’s ZIP code. “He said, ‘I can’t help you.’”
Even Fort Gay’s Mayor David Thompson attempted to intervene on Moore’s behalf – but with little success. Thompson complained that the XBox Live representatives simply refused to acknowledge they were in error.
Eventually XBox Live admitted to the error, and promised to “update” their staff training so that future mishaps such as this would not occur again.
As for Josh Moore, he is back to gaming, while remaining unemployed.
